Wesley Preschool Wesley Preshool is a non-profit organization housed in Wesley United Methodist Church in Beaumont, Texas. The school is self sustaining but under the umbrella of the church. The school pays rent to the church. All tuition and other fees are used to provide staff salaries, equipment, and supplies. Wesley Preschool is fully licensed by the State of Texas. We operate our school to meet or exceed the minimum standards of childcare. State and City health, fire, and licensing offices routinely inspect the shool. There is no discrimination in the enrollment based upon race, color, or religion. Curriculum The education program of Wesley Preschool considers the developmental needs of the child and tries to emphasize growth in all areas - physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual. Our preschool uses a bible-based curriculum called Scripture Bites. This curriculum is divided into weekly themes with the correlating Bible story. Unit activities touch all subject areas. Independence and the ability to learn through discovery is a major goal for each child. The child sets his/her own pace. Play is a major vehicle for learning. Since children learn by doing, many opportunities are given through unit activites. Some examples are: Math - Cooking - Art - Science - Language Arts - Sand/Water Play - Story Telling - Computer - Block Play - Movement and rhythm In addition to the regular classroom activities, we have special music, science classes, chapel, and a library period that meet weekly. We also offer spanish and computer instruction during the stay 'n play period. Hours/Days of Operation We have classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, nine months a year. The Beaumont Independent School Dirstrict schedule is followed both for holidays and school days cancelled due to weather conditions. School hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Please be prompt in picking up your child.
Wesley Mother's Day Out Wesley Mother's Day Out is a non-profit organization housed in Wesley United Methodist Church in Beaumont, Texas. The MDO program is a separate entity from the Church and Preschool. We are self sustaining but fall under the umbrella of the Church. The MDO program pays rent to the Church. Wesley MDO is fully licensed by the State of Texas. We operate our program to meet or exceed the minimum standards of childcare. State and City health, fire, and licensing offices routinely inspect the facility. There is no discrimination in the enrollment based upon race, color, or religion. Curriculum The age group of the Mother's Day Out children dictates the use of an emotional, social and self-worth program. Play is a major tool used in rearing children of this age. We introduce songs, reading, puppet play, sharing and how to respect others. This is all done according to the age of the child. Making sure your child is secure and happy when away from you is an important task for us. Hours/Days of Operation The Wesley MDO holds classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, nine months a year. The Beaumont Independent School District schedule is followed both for major holidays and school days cancelled due to bad weather. School hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Please be prompt picking up your child. It upsets them to be the last left in the classroom.
