To Know God And To Make God Known

for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRY

This caring ministry is designed to help make God’s love tangible to our members and to make God known to others. This goal is accomplished through a variety of ministries listed below:

DVD Ministry to the Homebound : We need DVD players! Many of our membership are physically unable to attend worship services. We need DVD players to loan to our members to watch the weekly worship service. If you would like to donate the resources to purchase a DVD player or a couple of DVD players (approx. $38.00 US) please contact the church office.

Card Ministry: Cards are sent to members on occasions of weddings, baptisms, confirmation, graduation, births, illnesses, new members, “special birthdays”, sympathy, etc.

New arrivals: A welcome sign is placed in the yard for a new baby, and a rose is placed on the altar with a special prayer certificate and baby’s first Bible. The family is provided a meal upon returning home from hospital.

Funeral/Bereavement: Upon the death of a member/family, a meal is coordinated and provided by either a Sunday school class or meal team.

Homebound/Shut-ins: Coordinates pastoral visits, communion, and delivery of DVDs of worship services for those members unable to attend worship.

Prayer Concerns/ Joys and Praises: Posts members’ hospital status, births, joys, deaths on board in the office and updates the joys and concerns weekly for the church bulletin. Checks on the status of congregational concerns of those listed as ill or hospitalized in order to keep clergy informed of members’ needs.

New Members: Add new member photos to bulletin board and prepare new member packets.

Military Personnel: Maintain list of military personnel and send devotional materials, cards, and care packages.

Expecting a Baby: A card and the book, “Your Baby is for Loving” is sent to members expecting a baby.

Flower Ministry: Coordinate delivery of altar flowers to homebound or hospitalized members.

There are numerous other ministries in the developmental stage and will be added as they are finalized and implemented.
