Confirmation Class to begin
Students in the sixth grade have reached the age where they are ready to be confirmed by the church. Although they have already been participating in the life of the church, they have reached a stage in their life where they are ready to deepen their faith through the process of confirmation. Confirmation is about exploring and developing one’s faith in a group setting with the ministers and other youth.
Sunday, Jan 29: Luncheon for confirmands, mentors & parents, (immediately following
the 10:30 am worship service. Meet in the Dining Hall)
Gift of Love Project, Salvation Army Visit) We will meet at the church at 4:30 pm and travel to the Salvation Army and hand out goodies to the people who are less fortunate. We will return back to the church by 5:45 pm and talk about our experience. Parent pick up at the church parlor at 6:30 pm. Please bring a total of 12 individual packages of crackers, peanuts, cookies, snacks, etc. Date and time to be announced.

We will be attending the Temple Emmanuel on 1120 Broadway, Beaumont. We will meet at the church and leave at 5:00 pm. Please remember to dress appropriately. Boys will need to wear something besides jeans and girls will need to wear dresses. Remember, we are visitors and we need to respect their traditions.
March 4, 2012 (Communion Sunday)
You and your confirmand/mentor may want to take use this opportunity to get a shut ins name out of the basket at the worship service and take communion to them. These people would be “Saints” of the church. You could use this time to visit with them about their experiences of Wesley UMC. If you need any suggestions, please ask me and I can help you out.
Lead in Worship The clergy will be asking Confirmands to sign-up for a small part in the worship service. Please compare calendars with Mentors to see which Sunday and which service will work for both of you to be present. Discuss what you would like to do and which service with each other and sign up with Rev. Robert Besser or Rev. Mark Bunch.

Please be in the Dining Hall at 10 a.m.
Each Confirmand will sign-up for a particular worship service prior to Confirmation Sunday, April 11 to help in worship. Offering Prayer, Affirmation of Faith, Call to Worship, Children’s Sermon, etc.
