Embracing the Uncertain - Lent Bible Study
February 28-March 28 - Wednesdays @ 6:30pm
Uncertainty can definitely be uncomfortable. Many of us prefer stability and a predictable future to an unknown fate. We are wired to want to control our destiny.
Embracing the Uncertain invites readers this Lent to engage and wrestle with life’s uncertainties, not ignore them. The first six chapters focus on six post-Transfiguration, pre-Passion stories in the Gospels. Each of these stories are signposts in the gospel narrative, pointing down at a world filled with uncertainty, but pointing us forward to a cross that can show us how to follow Jesus with courage, hope, and obedience. Includes discussion questions that can be used in small-group Bible study session or for personal growth.
Leaders: Pastor Robert Besser & Pastor Wade Floyd

The word “Covenant” speaks to a promise between God and humankind to live in a faithful and loving relationship; but knowing how to fulfill our end of that promise isn’t always clear. Covenant Bible Study engages its members in conversations about this unique and special relationship as well as our relationships with each other and the world around us as we study the Bible together.
Covenant is an in-depth group Bible study centered on the belief that through shared community we can best discover the Bible’s transformative power. Over the course of the study, the group will cover a major portion of both the Old and the New Testament of the Bible. Pastor Tim Turner will oversee and teach within a guys’ group, which will be led by R.J. Newsome, and a ladies group, which will be led by Megan Campbell and Ellen Wiemers. People from all stages and walks of life are encouraged to join as we each learn from our various perspectives.
Leaders: Rev. Tim turner, Megan Campbell, Ellen Wiemers, &R,J, Newsom

When tragedy and turmoil strike, it often becomes difficult knowing how to cope with the never-ending pressures of life. Further, many simply do not know who to turn to for help in finding peace. The Stephen Ministry at Wesley UMC exists precisely for the purpose of helping people heal after difficult times.
Stephen Ministers play a vital role in ministering to those within the church and the community who have recently experienced tragedy. Anyone can become a Stephen Minister by participating in this training led by Pastor Terry Brown and Pastor Donna Brown, both of whom have years of counseling and ministry experience. This training offers a wonderful opportunity to learn practical skills that will bring tangible healing to those needing a comforting friend.
