Hope for Hearing in Haiti

Gil Hanke, the new executive general secretary for national United Methodist Men, is an veteran of missions to Haiti where he takes used hearing aids that have been refurbished and places them with deaf individuals, mostly children in schools, so they can have more access to environmental sounds and the teachers' voices.

If you have upgraded to a new hearing aid, donate your old one by bringing it to the church office. Wineva will send these to Gil Hanke for use in Haiti in the coming years. Most of the hearing aids dispensed were kept at school to protect them from being stolen; so when the school was flattened, the hearing aids are also gone.
