Director of Congregational Care

Reba Sonnier is the Director of Congregational Care Ministries. She and Buz have been married 50 years and have lived in Beaumont all that time. They have three adult children; Cindy, Jeff, and Sean. Reba has been a member of Wesley since 1991 and joined the staff in September 2006.

She graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education with a specialty in Special Education. She retired from BISD after 25 years as a teacher, Educational Diagnostician, and Special Education Supervisor.

Reba has always been an advocate for those with special needs and those needing assistance in acquiring help. As her parent aged, her interests gravitated to assisting the elderly. Her interests lie in ministering to others through cards, calls, and visits which suits her well for this ministry. Her faith has sustained her through the loss of their daughter, Renee, which also affords opportunities to reach out to others who have also lost a child.

In her leisure time, she enjoys scrap booking, craft projects, reading, and baking.
