Wesley Day School

Wesley Day School was established in 1966.  Wesley Day School is a Christ-centered, happy, loving, nurturing, and creative place for children to grow and learn.  We are an early childhood program that teaches and strengthens each child's spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual skills.

Our goals at Wesley Day School include:

  • Encouraging active learning and problem solving.
  • Fostering the development of emotionally satisfying relationships.
  • Providing knowledge and experiences to grow healthy bodies.
  • Promoting a sense of community responsibility.

Wesley Day School is a 4 day, 9 month program, September through May. Our focus is a faith based early childhood education that prepares each child for the next step.  Daily schedules that provide a balance of individual and group activities, active and quiet play, and indoor and outdoor learning experiences. Inviting, age-appropriate classroom learning centers that give children opportunities to enhance skills, make choices, solve problems, and experiment while interacting with teachers and peers.  Our 4 year old classrooms are equipped with iPads and Apple TV’s with projectors to assist our teachers in preparing the kids for kindergarten.

Wesley Day School uses the Zoo Phonics® Curriculum for reading and spelling-“Zoo-phonics® is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers using a “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinesthetic” (moving), and tactile (touching)—whole brain approach”. In addition to Zoo-Phonics®, classroom time consist of weekly Chapel time, circle time with morning Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and Pledge to the Texas Flag,  Bible story time, fine and gross motor skills, gym time for large motor skills and outdoor play.  We also have hands-on science discovery classes, early childhood music in motion program, Spanish Language basics and art history class.
